Parmar Program Officerof the National Service Scheme Unit working at this College organized a Special Annual Camp for 7 days from 2nd February, 2023 to 8th February, 2023 focusing on social upliftment, Village services and getting knowledge of culture and civilization of the village at Uma Vidhya Sankul at Taraghadi Village, Taluko-Paddhari, District-Rajkot.under the leadership and guidance of Dr. Nilaben S. Thaker, Principal of the College.Volunteers of the National Service Scheme participated very enthusiastically in the camp. 1) 2nd FEB, 2023Thursday-Day 1 On the first day of Thursday 02nd FEB, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Special Annual Camp of NSS was organized very beautifully. The following invited guests attended the Inauguration Ceremony: 1) Shri K G Chudasama-Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate- Paddhari 2) Shri D V Moradiya -Dy. Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate-Paddhari 3) Smt. M D Makwana -Police Sub Inspector-Paddhari 4) Shri Hirenbhai Moliya -Sarpanch'sRepresentative-Taraghadi Village 5) Shri Jaysukhbhai Bhadja-Principal-J.J.Maheta HighSchool-Taraghadi 6) Shri Dipakbhai Nathavani-President-Rajkot Dist. Higher Secondary Teachers Union 7) Smt.Jaytiben P. Aahiya-Principal-Uma Vidhya Sankul- Taraghadi 8) Shri Nileshbhai Rojadiya -P.T.I. and Rector- Uma Vidhya Sankul- Taraghadi 9) Shri Pradumanbhai Sata -Educationalist-Paddhari 10)Shri Yuvarajsinh Zala -Talati-Cum-Mantri-Taraghadi Village Panchayat 11) Shri Vijaysinh Jadeja -I/c Forester -Paddhari 12) Shri Khodabhai Saniya -Member- Taraghadi Village Panchayat 13) Shri Parsotambhai Hapaliya-Member- Taraghadi Village Panchayat The camp was started with Sarvadharma Prayer.After Sarvadharma Prayer, lamp was lighted by the invited guests.Afterthat, the LakshyaSong of the National Service Scheme was sung.The invited guests were welcomed verbally and welcomed with khadi handkerchiefs and bouquets of flowers.National Service Scheme Program Officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar welcomed the invited guests verbally and introduced them.Dr. Parmar also gave a very in-depth detailed information about the National Service Scheme and the complete outline of the seven days of the Special Annual Camp and very important information about the objectives of organizing the camp.Paddhari Taluka Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate Mr. K. G. Chudasama Saheb warmly welcomed with khadi handkerchief and bouquets of flowersby the principal of the college Dr Nilaben S. Thaker with great joy. Similarly, the other invited guests were also warmly welcomedwith khadi handkerchief and bouquets of flowers by the staff members of the college. In the presence of the invited guests, Paddhari Taluka Mamlatdar and Executive Magistrate Shri K.G.Chudasama Saheb greeted all the camperswith a very inspiring address. He also expressed his gratitude to the college family for inviting him to such auspicious occasion.Mr.DipakbhaiNathwaniPresident-Rajkot District Higher Secondary School Union also gave very in-depth information about the importance of the camp and gave necessary suggestions to the campers. Smt. Jayatiben Ahiyaprincipal of Uma VidhyaSankul in her address expressed great joy and happiness that she herself has been a student of Kavi Shree Dad Government College of Arts and Commerce and today she herself became the chief guest of the camp organized by the college and provided a lot of inspiration to the campers. The principal of the college, Dr. Nilaben S. Thaker, gave very detailed information about the rules of the camp, the importance of the camp, social service through the village service through the camp and the cooperation of the campers in the work of national renewal.At the end of the inauguration ceremony, Theinauguration ceremony was concluded very successfully with the National Anthem by thanking all the invited guests. The entire inauguration ceremony was conducted by the senior professor of the college Mr. Gitaben G. Bhut. After the completion of the inauguration ceremony “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” rally was flag off by the principal of the college. Throughout the rally, an important message was given to the people of the village by the campers raising slogans of "Beti Bachavo, Beti Padhao".After the completion of the rally, all the campers and all the guests and faculty members enjoyed a very nutritious, healthy and delicious meal in the group. After lunch and rest a very detailed and in-depth briefing was given by Weighing Inspector Mr. B.H. Gajera, Assistant Controller, Weighing Office,Rajkot on weighing and Consumer Protection related provisions. He made the campers aware of the cheating of consumers in weights and measures by direct demonstration using different types of weighing and measuring instruments. Along with this, information was given about the rights of the consumers and very useful information was given about the procedure to be followed by the consumers in case of fraud, and about the Office of Consumer Disputes Redressal.Weighing Inspector Mr. B.H. Gajera from the Weighing Office Rajkot was welcomed verbally and with a khadi handkerchief by Program Officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D.Parmar. A vote of thanks was also expressed by Dr.Parmar for sparing his valuable time and sharing his thoughts amongst campers. 2) 3rdFEB, 2023Friday-Day 2 The second day of the camp started with Addiction Relief Rally and “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” Rally and Public Contacts.De-addiction rally and “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” rally were organized from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. Throughout the rally slogans of freedom from addiction and Beti Bachao Beti Padhavo werechanted. Along with the rally, the people of the village were informed about de-addiction. After lunch from 2:00 to 4:00 hours at Gram Panchayat Chowk of the village as part of vigilance program on de-addiction, a steet play named “Amar Raho Tamaro Chudi Chandlo” was performed by artist Mahendrabhai A. Shah of Amar Natykla Mandir in collaboration with Prohibition and Excise Office Rajkot. The Play was presented in a very unique style by the entire team.Through the medium of street play, a very ironic and inspirational presentation was made about the economic and social loss caused by alcoholism and how to save the family from ruin by breaking the habit of alcoholism.Artist Mahendrabhai A. Shah of Amar Natykla Mandir and his entire team warmly welcomed on behalf of the college family by Program Officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar. The entire program was managed by Hemali Vasani, a student of B.A.Sem.-6. And the vote of thanks was expressed by Bhitol Chandrika, a student of B.Com.Sem.-4. 3) 4th FEB, 2023Saturday-Day 3 On the third day of the camp, village cleaning campaign was organized between 9:00 am to 10:30 am, by all the campers outside the school complex and Gram Panchayat Chowk, bus station using cleaning tools like broom, shovel, tagara, trikam, khapari etc. The cleaning work was done by all the campers who went to the area and primary school square. Through the cleaning campaign, village cleaning was organized with the noble purpose of creating awareness about cleanliness among the campers, drawing attention to the problems arising from throwing garbage, and developing a positive attitude towards cleanliness and health among the villagers. From 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, an intellectual lecture was organized on Mahatma Gandhi's thoughts on village service. Narendra Vithalani- Former Additional Treasury Officer, Pension Payment Office, Rajkot presented Gandhiji's views on village service through a very informative lecture on the topic “Gram Seva and Gandhiji.” Mr. Narendra Vithalani was welcomed and introduced by Dr.Gitaben G. Bhut, Senior professor of the college. Program Officer Dr Ashvinkukar D. Parmarwarmly Welcomedthe guest by khadi handkerchief and bouquet of flowers. At the end of the lecture, a question-and-answer session was organized to solve the questions related to Gandhiji of all the campers of the college. In which the students asked "Why didn't Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel become the first Prime Minister instead of Jawaharlal Nehru?", Why couldn't Gandhiji stop the execution of death of sentence of Bhagatsinh, Rajguru and Sukhdevsinh?, Why did Godse shoot Gandhiji? Questions like etc. were asked. During the struggle for Hind Swaraj, Gandhiji called upon the youth to join Gram Seva through Gram Seva and to join the work of building Navbharat through Samaj Seva, as part of which thousands of youths joined Gram Seva. Thus, through village service itself the talk of social change came to be known through Pujya Bapu's ideas. Management of the entire program and thanking Done by Dr. Rajiben S. Wagh Head of Accountancy Department of the college Dr. Rajiben S. Wagh also presented Gandhiji's ideas about village service in a very attractive style. After lunch, between 2:00 and 5:00 hours, the cleaning of the entire premises of the camp site, Uma VidhyaSankul, was done by all the campers. And plastic was collected from the entire complex to make the complex plastic free. 4) 5th FEB, 2023Sunday-Day 4 Meditation, Pranayama, Yoga and various intellectual as well as physical games were organized on the day of the campin the premises of the school complex, in the early morning. All the campers were taught meditation and informed about the benefits of meditation by Dr. Gitaben G. Bhut, senior professor of the college. After that, different types of pranayama and different types of yoga postures were practiced. Today's invited guest Mr. Mahesh Karkar Saheb informed the campers about the physical and mental benefits of Shirshashana Mudra. Program Officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar for the noble purpose of proper development of memory and observation power in the campers, he made the campers play different types of group intellectual games. At the end of half an hour rest after lunch, all the campers again practiced different types of physical games. In which games like cricket, volleyball, catch-catch etc. were played by forming different teams. Thus, the day was completed with various activities for the mental and physical strongness of the campers. 5) 6th FEB, 2023Monday-Day 5 A very beautiful Prabhat-Pheri was organized by all the campers from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Different slogans and patriotic slogans were chanted throughout the Prabhat-Pheri. After that a very important dialogue was held on the subject of village culture and village civilisation under the “Chore Pe Charcha” at village chore.In which the villagers were present. Under the Chore Pe Charcha, the benefits of rural life and the problems arising from urbanization were discussed at great length.72-year-old Jaguramdas Agravat of the village applauded today’s this activity of National Service Scheme and provided guidance and inspiration to the campers by giving a very motivating talk on keeping the lifestyle simple and simple food and the importance of getting up early in the morning and going to bed early at night. From the office of Assistant Commissioner, Food and Drug Regulatory Authority, Rajkot Dr. Rohit Kotdiya Saheb and Chemist Solanki Saheb were present. Program Officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar welcomed them verbally and with bouquets of flowers. Kotdiya Saheb gave very detailed and accurate information about adulteration in food, factors to check while buying packing food. A mobile food testing laboratory named “Food Safety on Wheels” from his office was brought to the camp for the inspection and demonstration of the campers. Demonstration and information about various equipment for food testing in the laboratory was given by Chemist Solanki Saheb. The entire program was managed by professor of the college Dr. Balwantsinh J.Chauhan. After the lunch break, a guidance lecture was organized under the topic of cybercrime from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. From Cyber Crime Police Station, Rajkot Range Respected V.A.Patel Saheb-Police Inspector, S.K.Solanki Saheb-Police Sub-Inspector and Purnimaben-Constable were present. On behalf of the college family, they were introduced and welcomed by Program Officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar. And the reception was done by the campers with bouquet of flowers. Respected V.A.Patel sir gave a very accurate and detailed information about Crime, Cybercrime, Types of Cybercrime, Procedure to be followed by the victims in case of cybercrime incident, Role of Cybercrime Office in crime prevention etc. In his lecture, Mr. Patel requested not to be tempted by the fact that greed, temptation, fear and fear are the root of cybercrime. Detailed information was given about what kind of cybercrime cases are happening in the society. Helpline number 1930 for immediate contact in case of cybercrime incident was informed and detailed information about the action taken by the help line was given by RespectedPatel Saheb. Entire program and thanks giving was done by Dr. Balwantsinh J. Chaujan, professor of the college. After half an hour's rest, all the campers join hands to clean the village square and the road in front of the Uma VidhyaSankul. Plastic, waste and all other types of waste were collected and disposed of properly. Also, slogans like “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao”,“Save Environment”, “Plant the Tress” etc. were written by the Girl Campers on the outside wall of the school complex and elsewhere. 6) 7th FEB, 2023Tuesday-Day 6 Prabhat-Pheri was beautifully organized from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. Prabhat-Pheri was taken out in the entire village with slogans of patriotism and independence. After that, a group discussion on benefits of rural and urban life was organized at Gram Panchayat Chowk of the village under “Panchayat Chowk Pe Panchayat.” In which the campers were divided into two different groups and one group was told to represent village life and the other group was told to represent urban life. Villagers were also present in the entire program. Favourable factors like health, education, employment opportunities etc. in the city and against it the disadvantages caused by urbanization are discussed. On the other hand, rural life provides a market for urban industries, food and clean air are available in the village, diseases are reduced and the village people live longer, early to bed and early to rise are the hallmarks of rural life, etc. An important group discussion was held. A Self-Education Day celebration was organized for all campers from 11:00 AM to 12:30 AM. In which 3-3 groups of campers were made and each group was assigned to teach in a total of 6 classrooms of the primary school of Uma VidhyaSankul. In a total of 3 lectures of half an hour, all the campers did teaching work to the primary school children. Along with the teaching work, different games were also played for the students of the school.School Studentsand campers get a very pleasant and lifelong memory experience. The entire planning and management of the Self-Education Day celebration was beautifully done by the college professor Dr. Dipaliben A. Agrawat, Dr. Kusumben R. Chotaliya and college librarian Dr. Namrataben R.Joshi. After lunch and rest, a lecture was delivered by Ashvinbhai Jivani Saheb, Gujarat State Hindu Pracharak of Hindu Jagran Manch and Retd. Vigilance Head of PGVCL giving an understanding of cow-based farming. On behalf of college family, Ashvinbhai Jivaniverbally welcomed and introduction by program officer Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar. Dr.Gitaben G.Bhut, Professor of the College, welcomed Ashvinbhai Jivani with the Bouquet of Flowers Ashvinbhai Jivani gave information covering very important aspects like different methods of organic farming, its benefits, harm to human life and environment due to non-organic farming, adoption of cow based organic farming etc. He Also requested to stop the use of plastic utensils, plastic packing materials, other plastic items in life. The entire program was managed by Mananbhai M. Kalola-Physical Training Instructor of the college. 7) 8th FEB, 2023Wednesday-Day 7 Multiple programs were organized on the last day of the camp. Guidance and live demonstration on disaster management was organized from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Respected Rahul Joshi sir from the office of Rajkot Chief Fire Officer and his team were present with all necessary equipment for disaster management. On behalf of the college family, Rahul Joshi Saheb was introduced and warmly welcomed verbally by the Program Officer of the college Dr. Ashvinkumar D. Parmar and hewas also welcomed with a bouquet of flowers by senior professor of the college and former program officer Dr. Dharmesh Bhai R. Parmar. A live demonstration of disaster management was presented by Joshi Saheb and his team. A very detailed information and live demonstration of the different equipment used during the administration was given. A cultural program and closing ceremony was organized from 11:15 to 12:45 am. Talati-cum-Mantri of Gram Panchayat Mr. Yuvrajsinh Zala, Representative of Village Sarpanch Mr. Hirenbhai Moliya, Principal of Uma VidhyaSankulSmt. Jayatiben Ahiya and Rector Mr. Nileshbhai Rajodiya were present in this program. The closing ceremony started with Sarvadharma Prayer and Lighting the Lamp. After lighting the lamp, the LakshyaSong of National Service Scheme was sung. The guests were welcomed verbally and with bouquets of flowers by the college faculty. An essay on “My Idol Mahatma Gandhi” was read by Govind Damor Student of B.A.Sem.-6. All the campers presented a play based on the Lakshya Song giving complete information about the workings of the National Service Scheme. Camp participants Vasani Hemali, Rathod Jarna and Charola Kuldeep gave their feedback about the camp. In the closing ceremony. Occasional address was given by the principal of the college Dr. Nilaben S. Thaker. In which very accurate guidance was provided on issues like importance of camp, village cleanliness, improvement of various skills through camp, impact of camp on village, etc. and expressed gratitude to all the collaborators of the camp and applauded the work of the Program Officer of National Service Scheme. At the last Program Officer thanked the College Principal, Village Sarpanch, Talati-cum-Mantri, School Principal, School Rector and all the academic and non-academic staff of the college and former Program Officer for the successful planning, implementation, support and guidance of the camp. Along with this, National Service Scheme Program Officer Dr.Ashvin kumar D. Parmar appealed to all the campers to take the following resolutions:  We will preserve and protect the environment.  We will reduce the use of plastic  We will not throw plastic and garbage everywhere  We will use a cloth bag  We will contribute to Village Service Campaign  We will Adopt “Seva Paramo Dharma” Mantra in life   We will Become an ideal citizen and participate in ideal nation building  We will cultivate the concept of “Vasudhev Kutumbkam” as an Entire world is a Family  We will not adopt bad addictions like tobacco, cigarette and alcohol and if we have adopted, we will give it up  We Will give up vices like rage, hatred, work laziness, anger, slander, violence, theft, extravagance, laziness, adultery, deceit etc.  We will cultivate Human values like truth, non-violence, love, service, compassion, mercy, righteousness, simplicity, honesty, morality etc. in life. Finally, the closing ceremony was concluded with the National Anthem in Group. After enjoying a healthy and delicious lunch, each camper was given a precious gift of Swami Vivekananda's book "Adarsh Manaunu Nirman" by the Program Officer on the occasion of his birthday and 11 different types of trees were planted in the school complex by the college Principal, Faculty, and Campers. After that, a group photo of the college principal, program officer, all the faculty and all the administrative staff of the college was taken with all the campers. Thus, the camp was completed very successfully.
